Software Architect for Modular Systems
…who want to help companies become software-first businesses
Modular Management is a consulting firm that works with international companies to create and deploy market-driven product platforms, built on modular principles. In this role you will work with modularity in software engineering at some of the greatest companies in the world, in industries as varied as home appliances, robotics, telecom and construction.
We are experiencing significant demand for consulting services in modular product architectures that connect mechanics, electronics, and software, and are therefore looking to strengthen our team with a software architect.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will work as a consultant to guide our customers to structure and design software to fulfil system requirements on reusability, scalability, and performance, considering hardware interaction and network topologies. You will be working with a team of consultants from Modular Management as well as with teams of our customers. The main task is not to code, but to coach clients, including decision makers, to support the change. You will also contribute to Modular Management's method development, continuously seek new knowledge, build networks, and take part in business development.
What We Offer
If you enjoy working with top colleagues in a global setting, we can offer great development opportunities. The position is based at our head office in central Stockholm, but to a great extent, the job can be performed remotely with the flexibility to manage your own time. Traveling to clients occurs on a regular basis.
In a smaller, niche consultancy you will get to learn all parts of the business. We all work as consultants in a non-hierarchical organization, where even the most experienced consultants share similar tasks to new employees. Staff turnover is low, the company prioritizes work-life balance, and you get to learn something new every day.
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, we believe you:
- Worked with software architecture, either as a consultant or as an enterprise architect.
- Are good at communicating and cooperating with a range of stakeholders
- Understand how hardware and software interact
- Have a coaching mindset and like to motivate fellow team members
We believe you have experience from building software architectures with the end user’s requirements in mind and that you understand the importance of respecting defined interfaces and demands for reusability. Relevant work experience can include either working as a developer or an architect. To thrive in this role, you want to see the big picture and find the best solution for our clients.
- Fluency in English is required, verbal and writing
- Relevant science or business degree
Meriting, but not required:
- Experience from enterprise agile development frameworks such as SAFe or similar
- Experience from one or more of these system domains:
- UML modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw or PlantUML
- ALM/DevOps solutions such as Jira or Azure DevOps
